Default Steering Wheel Audio Control's

Hi.

I'm not sure if this has been covered in other post's, so I it has, then I appologise now.

I have a S40 (MK2) 2.0 D which has basic trim, no leather, no heated seats etc with a rather worn steering wheel which I'm looking to replace.

The Airbag on mine has never been deployed so have seen several on Ebay with Cruise and Stereo buttons for about £20-30.

If I bought one of these as a repacement would the cruise / stereo control's work with my car or would it be a messy job installing the wiring lumes etc to get them to work?

Please excuse my ignorance if I'm asking a daft question.

Any help is apreciated.

Thanks.

No guarantee but, the audio controls might work. Cruise won't work unless you get Volvo to install the required software and you also already have the correct type of stalk with read button and adjustment wheel. It's possible you may already have the stalk depending on model/year.

AFAIK no additional wiring required, if you add the buttons to an existing steering wheel you sometimes have to add wiring inside the wheel, however if you get a wheel with the buttons on, the wiring should already be there.

The audio controls are transferable between wheels but you can try it with the audio controls and see if they work. Let us know for info if if does work.

You should be able to sort the audio controls easily, the cruise would need enabling in VIDA and if the clutch and brake pedal sensors aren't fitted they'd need to be. I have a spare set of cruise and audio controls (with no phone buttons) knocking about if you want them?? If you cover the postage they're yours. Just got them to your existing wheel and you'll know if they work or not
