Default What temperature do you run your Climate at?

Hi all,

Traveling home on Friday night after the car had been sat in the Sun the Climate did the usual job of blasting away for a minute or so and then the fan speed dropped down as you'd expect.

Set at 'Auto' and 20 deg's I began to feel like there wasn't enough air passing over my body to keep comfortable so I ended up playing with the temps and set it down to 17 deg's in the end.

When I got home I measure the temp at the grilles and it was 4.3 deg C mostly and the compressor was cycling on/off nicely so the A/C gas is fine.

Maybe it was just me jumping in the car feeling hot and also the leather seat had been in the sun too so I probably demanded more from it than usual?

Today I have come prepared and have fitted my windscreen sunblind thing so that should help.

Just wondered which temperature you find comfy in this hotter weather?

When i do that, i always end up with a cough and cold , so i point the vents up and outwards but even then do feel a stream of air on my forehead and that gives me a headache...

it's 21C for me.

In the winter I left it at 18C and rarely changed it. From about 2 weeks ago onwards I put it at 17C. Yesterday the car sat baking in the sun but 17C was fine for getting the temperature down in the car and being a comfortable temperature to travel at. It blasts out for about 2-3 minutes and then just sits quietly in the background.

Each car may be slightly different of course, 17C in my car may be 19C in another. 20C in my car in this weather would not be comfortable.

set mine usually around the 18-20c mark, if I want a blast of cooler air I push the cabin button for a few minutes to cool me down then back to the auto setting.

Perfect thats how it should be used :-) Very very few people use it properly , they get in and as soon as the air blasts out they turn some knob or other .

I used my ubber-sun shade thing yesterday which kept the sun off the dash and seats so 20deg was very nice all the way home.

Also pointed the face vents upwards and got a nice 'drizzle' effect

For me it's 21C Auto Summer and Winter. Although if my wife's been driving it's set to all sorts of manual settings and gets reset when I get in it.

Mmm, Women don't seem to 'get' Climate Control in my experience. They appear to fiddle with the fan speed thinking it will make them hotter/cooler and you'll find the airflow directed at the passengers foot!

I was glad when I bought her indoors an Astra with a button that says "a/c" - "here, I said, press this and you'll get colder"..........

*runs away*
