Giving up on my 960

I am giving up on my 960 estate. 1996, about 70-something miles (genuine) looks gorgeous, leather pretty good with even only slight wear on driver seat, good door cards, everything works except as set out below. Some additional benefits, but three major problems. First she has always threatened to overheat when towing even a small caravan. Second she has now done her head gasket again. Third the yellow flashing arrow indicating a gearbox fault.

She has HUGE DO88 racing radiator and two HUGE atf coolers, with custom undertray to protect them. Spare standard radiator that was only in for a couple of weeks. I might also have the previous standard rad. Fitted G80 diff (from a Mk1) and standard open diff included as spare. Dog gard present. Spare coil packs and HT leads and I might even have an AMM somewhere. Spare part engine looms (to go to the coil packs). Volvo towbar and twin 7-pin sockets with smart relay. Good tyres. Monster air horns (switchable). Stainless exhaust, lovely sound but a little baffle at the very exhaust tip is loose and rattles. Decat pipe (not fitted). The kiddie seat has been removed but I think I have all the bits. Maybe. The old door cards are available. Volvo CD changer with spare cassette.

I have spent thousands and thousands on this car but it has to stop. Does anyone want to take her off my hands for about twice scrap value? You will have to trailer away. She is at a garage on the Medway City Estate (Strood, Kent, ME1 region) and they want the space so if nobody takes her in a week or so she will get weighed in.

Hi Roger -

I'd v.m. like to save this from the scrappers - and perhaps rescue it as a regular driver (although I'm not commuting at present) until I can find something else - if I need to!
