I think I know what you mean now, is it just the tag bit that's crimpped onto the end of the wire and has a little metal piece that locks it into place? The removal tool enables you to press this in so it can be removed from the housing. I just did something similar recently when trying to fix a dodgy button on the hoover. But I had better access and was able to use a small screw driver to press the tag/flap/thing in to disconnect it. Are those part numbers specific to volvo, or are they general part numbers for removal tool/kits i.e. sizes? |

Is there a specific terminal remover tool/kit or can you use pretty much any?
Looking on eBay a whole set isn't cheap, not for just one job. |

you might get away with something like a darning needle or a large diameter sewing needle

Was this thread ever resolved? I am looking at changing pedal plug on V50 and running wire to CEM too. How on earth do you gain access to the plug to actually work on it? It was bad enough just changing the pedal and plugging it in. Am I missing something? And access again to run white wire to cem please? Cheers |

Son seems to think all the wires from loom into plug are red when he changed pedal? I see elsewhere kindly posted "I usually run a new white wire between the throttle pedal terminal Pin 2 and and Pin 31 of Green connector G under the CEM" when they say run a new wire you mean pull connectors out as well and replace wire with connectors? Is this valid for my V50 2010 1.6S eco Vin= YV1MW76F2A2565775? Will get the volvo rust spray as recommended (£23 ebay) ouch So access to the pedal plug once pedal is off?. Does it drop down somehow or is it stuck where it is in an impossible position? I assume that bloody bulkhead panel doesnt split out of the way blocking everything. Is this kit a better idea or stick with plug and fly leads? https://workshopping.co.uk/new-produ...SABEgLZSfD_BwE |

just do the white wire and terminals from pedal to CEM plug ... The pedal is not too difficult to get out , the lock nuts have a long thread so a lot of winding stiff nuts ! The Volvo rapid rust loosener spray is brilliant well worth the money and much better than WD 40 , it is slightly acidic and really does clean connectors and dissolve rust on nuts and bolts too, it smells like Lager :-) the main problem is the terminal pins loose their gripping properties , the new terminals have an extra leaf spring to keep the grip pressure higher .
