Red face cvt prob?

cvt noisy?

Postby spike4073 » 23 Jul 2011 09:24 am
right.... finaly got my 340 1.4 cvt back on the road but when i took it out yesterday for its first proper drive in 2 years i noticed that it seems to have become noisier than it used to be?

it used to be that it was quite loud but when you get it up to speed it got quieter........now it seems that the faster you go the louder it gets...

the noise is best described as a hair dryer on steroids :S i cant figure out if its over reving or if the noise is down to the cvt........ rev counter reads 40 when traveling at around 45/50 mph

anyone know what could be causing this???

I remember from previous threads that it might be the change down vacuum servo, but can't recall the details.

im pretty sure its an electrical issue, theres no current to the low gear hold switch and none to the overdrive side of the vacuum valve,

time to play follow the wires :S
