To close the loop for me on this one, the only kit that seems to do everything is the Volvo one, despite what the Bosal site says... lesson learned!
Volvo kit ordered from FRF. Booked in for coding on Mon. Total price including coding is just over the aftermarket Bosal kit. Wish I had known before. Do it right, do it once. |

TSA is first mentioned in the user's manual for the XC70 for model year 2012.

Hope you have better luck with coding than me!
Took it in today, charged 90 quid for the privilege of coming home only to find it still doesn’t work. Couldn’t call as they had shut up shop by the time I had got back. Watched them from afar whilst they did it and didn’t see them test it, assumed it must be done via VIDA. Definitely didn’t plug anything into the 13 pin socket. Reading the install again, it says it has to be activated by connecting at least two light sources. I assume that means onto the tail light pins and earth. They spent a lot longer looking for more business by going over the whole car looking for faults. Very kind of them! Anyway, you don’t like to question professionals do you? At £120 an hour, you should not have to. |

I don't like to question professionals but as there are so many effing useless ones I have to.
I was aware of the test so I'll be looking out. Very poor of them to be so sloppy about the whole thing. I'll take the bike rack as a plug in test for me to check after the event. Hope you get it sorting. |

Yep, I’ll be chucking bike rack in the boot tomorrow morning and will be waiting on their doorstep at 0800.
I do hope it is them that has cocked up and not me. Can’t see how I can have though. Followed procedure and it is dead simple. The only slight fiddle was getting the pin on the orange cable clicked into the fuse box but I got there in the end. |

If you'd goofed they'd have mentioned in the coding exercise so I'm sure you're ok. Sounds like to me a spotty Herbert did the job and it wasn't checked off properly by someone competent.
