Put a Facebook group up and make a sign to put next to the road so others that have had their cars damaged can get together, the more the better then if the local authorities start messing about they will soon realise they are tackiling a group rather than multiple individuals who are easier to fob off - Mike

If its already been reported then I think you should be ok with a claim as you have evidence

My mate had a similar incident in South Wales. He claimed off of the council for the wheel and tyre and had his car indecently checked for further damage.

My wife run into one on Monday in our V70. Punctured the tyre but the alloy survived.
This website explains how to make (or at least try to make) a claim against your local council. http://www.potholes.co.uk/ Reading into it, it seems that it is made as difficult as possible to the point where the victim gives up and pays out their own pocket for repairs. |

My local council paid out right away, some guys at work smashed a carbon bike up hitting a massive pot hole a few months back they sorted the claim out they normally repair it the same dos or day after to avoid more claims.

Correct. Though you will need to provide evidence that it had been reported and that the council had not acted "in a reasonable and timely manner". Been there, done it. And they may claim it is "not their hole" i.e. it may have been dug by a third party such as a utilities company. In that case, you need to take it up with whoever was responsible.
