Default Egr/ dpf ahh!

Since I have got lots of black smoke in reverse today I decided to remove my egr and clean it.
I’ve seen worse egr valve but when all put back together it sounded better etc... taken for a drive and all is ok but still have the black smoke.

Just returned from shell topping up with diesel ( the posh vpower ) and when returning home the soot filter message came up on the dash!

What will cause the black smoke in reverse?
My car goes into regen lots more than it should but no errors on Vida and replaced the dpf last year.

Sounds like it needs a good run/italian tune-up to burn-off the DPF build-up. Do you do a lot of short stop-start journeys?

Done that many of times, kind of embarrassing going a 10+ miles at 3/4k and when you go to overtake you see the smoke filling the motorway.

Done a test on the injectors via visa too and there fine.

I’ve seen this problem on many cars with the same engine but no solutions
