  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.

Default 440 immobilsor problem

hi. I have a 1996 440 gsi, I lock and unlock it on the fob, once the key is removed from the ignition I have to lock it and un lock it before it will start again,, just been out to Tesco locked the car. when I came back I unlocked it and tried to start it but it wouldn't start, im assuming it the immobilisor , can any one point me I nthe right direction to sorting it out so I can use the car again . I reall love this car and want to drive it again..... thanks

I have had exactly this problem tonight - about an hour ago!!

I managed to get it going again by unlocking, opening the door (I know), locking and repeating a couple of times.

Then unlocked again, put key in ignition and off it went.

turns out it wasn't the immobilsor but the starter motor. thanks to the rac man
