It might be better to post a wanted list in the wanted section Matt, there is another Volvo breakers at Swaffham :

http://www.norfolkvolvospares.co.uk/

They have an ebay shop as well (link on the website), Mark who runs it has always been helpful when i've been after something and will post most things.

Barry is at Lakes, LS, and Bernie was the old Volvo guru at the defunct Braydon in north London. Though Braydon are no more, Bernie is still working up the road at Sentinel Volvo, run by his son Matt; Bernie MOTd my 940 last week.
The Braydon parts dept. still lives and is upstairs at Sentinel and run by Steve. Between them they must be the most knowledgeable old Volvoists and let's hope they keep going.

I asked Steve about Lakes last week and he reckoned they've been closing for at least three years, and that the only way to get parts from them is to turn up on the doorstep. Can't be persuaded to post parts, apparently.

Lakes was run by two brothers Eric - Barry and Bernie, both now well past retirement age. It might be coincidence there was someone at Braydon Volvo also called Bernie but there is more than one Bernie around! It wouldn't have been the same Bernie at both places at the same time though!

There was a place many years ago called Volvo Village in Handsworth[Sheffield] I just tried looking them up to see if they were still going but it seems not. However I did stumble across a site called autovillage.co.uk into which you can put your model/year or registration number and what you're after and it'll come up with answers for refurbished used parts or breakers in Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster/Barnsley.Not used this site myself[only just found it]so can't say how good/bad it is.

Last time i was there just over a year ago, they were on the point of closing - the land has been sold and the two brothers that run it are retiring after 6+ decades of working.

I can't remember which brother it was i dealt with (Barry i think, apologies if it was Bernie) but he told me the story of how he bought it and built the business up and how it had recently been sold and they just had to clear it.
At the time they were in fact past their original date for closing, they'd had a reprieve as there was more stuff there than originally thought.

Sheffield is still a fair bit north of Wyboston (about 100 miles i think) and as i didn't know where Haltwhistle is, i looked it up on GaggleMops :

"Haltwhistle is a small town and civil parish, 10 miles east of Brampton" is what i read at first glance. First thought was you weren't that far as there is a Brampton not far from Lakes Garages :

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...5!4d-0.2201557

Then i read it again and read this :

"Haltwhistle is a small town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, 10 miles east of Brampton" and realised you were miles further north than Sheffield even!

Good luck if you do manage to make it there, they used to have literally a mountain of spares, now it's barely a molehill in comparison.
Haltwhistle Northumberland is near me....unfortunately no Volvo specialists here...the nearest garage I would trust for classic Volvo service and repairs would have been Henry Watson of Haydon Bridge. Unfortunately just closed recently due to the owner retiring.

I was in Lakes last week collecting an ABS module, still lots of stock although definitely call ahead to make sure they have what you need. I'm only 10 mins from them so happy to pop in there if I can help anyone

Well ... my trip was excellent, good weather, no scrapyards though so no Volvo news.
Picked up some expensive sheets of hardened steel from a small busy factory,
car was smooth,
job done.

Hey Tomoose do they have cheap 940 1993 front sidelights?
