My son has just bought a 244. Piston number one is damaged. Has anyone got another B21 engine. What other engines will bolt straight onto the gearbox? Thanks Mike

B21s are getting harder to find, although not impossible. You are lucky that they are largely unwanted by anyone removing them, so don't pay too much.

Pretty much any other redblock (b200 or b230) will fit, there are differences but 90% of parts are interchangeable or upgradable (is that a word?)

If you can find a b230, and M46 (4 + overdrive) box, with accompanying crossmember and prop from a later 240, that would make a great upgrade.

Join the facebook group, lots going on on there

Hello MGS,

I have a complete but very rusty 1978 (round headlight) 244DL. It's got a B21A with a manual box and has only done about 70K miles. It ran perfectly when parked for MOT repairs about 15 years ago!
I'm in Redruth so not too far away.
I'd have to let it go as a complete car, let me know if it's of any interest to you.

Chris
