Car Alarm Service
Hi looking for some advice, i have the dreaded Car Alarm Service message appear on they dash and as the car is some 13 years old guessed that the siren needed replacing .
Fast forward and now that the new alarm unit is fitted under the offside wheel arch I still have the car alarm service message showing. I thought it was a plug and play which would of cleared the message is that correct or have i missed something? PSJ |

Did you actually diagnose the fault, or simply leap to a conclusion that the siren was faulty?
If you guessed, you now see the disadvantages of guessing: you probably guessed wrong. Time to start diagnosing properly, to prevent further wrong guesses

I don't think anything is plug and play on the Volvo! You need Vida to check for any codes present and then use it to reset them.

Hi, when I replaced mine, the alarm message and amber warning cleared. It should clear anyway after a few minutes.
It is common that people remove the alarm fuse when the module becomes faulty as mine would decide to go off at night for no reason. I removed my fuse before eventually replacing. If your alarm message is still on, like others have said, you need to read codes. |

Mine cleared automatically when we replaced the siren so your problem is something else. As said previously check the fuse first, if that fine plug vida in and see what comes up.
