Folding mirror motor removal

Hi All,
I have a 2011 D5 with blis. Someone forcefully folded the drive side mirror and cause the folding mechanism to break. I cant fold it anymore.

I have managed to remove the whole outer assembly that holds the mirror but couldn't remove the motor with is secured to lower housing that holds the blis camera.

Could anybody help me on this?

Had same problem. I gave up and reassembled. I could find no way to remove motor assembly from frame.

Ok I think I finally know how to do this.

To get to the motor, remove the outer casing (assuming you already know this). The motor is secured by two dowel pins that can be knocked out easily then the whole motor assembly can be taken out. In my case, one of the plastic gear is broken and luckily someone sells it on ebay for GBP40 (all metal). I however bought the cheaper version from Aliexpress.

That is all normally needed but assuming you need to remove the stationary gear on the BLIS housing then there are addition steps. I've not done this but the construction is similar to other models in youtube where you have the spring and locking washer that you need to bend to remove it. The only tricky part here is the wiring harness that goes through the stationary shaft that you need to de-pin the connectors to remove it.

The BLIS housing is not difficult to remove but you need to take out the whole assembly off the car by 1st removing the interior door panel.
