Default Estate rear side fixed window trim ???

Anyone know of a replacement rubber trim for the rear fixed windows

It is the trim along the bottom of the window ??

I also need the windscreen trims, but I know they are like hens teeth

Cheers

The 745 and 945 rear cargo space outer window trims are the same and both suffer from 'long term' shrinkage of the rubber strip cap attached to the bright or black metal lower window trim. The rubber has not survived well over time.

The rubber as originally designed stopped water entering the the inside of the car and puddling in the lower cargo space wheel arch. The rubber is attached to the metal trim by spring clips. The trim metal and rubber is removed as one item being attached by separate plastic clips to the body. Age will have had its way and the clips are very fragile and highly likely to break-up on removal of the trim.

I have never been able to find a suitable replacement rubber unlike window scrappers. Short of removing the trim and repairing it by butting on with super glue a short section obtained from a breaker the best answer is to mould a section into the gap with some mouldable sealant.

Should anyone know a source of suitable replacement rubber strip that info would be most welcome.

As to the windscreen trims you have probable noted from a very recent thread that thses can still be obtained from Volvo at a horrific cost.

I was looking on the Brookhouse website and happened to notice that they supply replacement rubber trim and clips for both the 740/940 estates.

For a set of clips (8 + 2) and rubber trims (2) to do both sides they come in about £29 cheaper than Skandix. There again, anything is usually cheaper than Skandix!

Awesome! my car has been looking like a BoS since I got the spraying done and didn't finish the rear trims, broken clips and couldn't find suitable rubber yet.

Well ordered 3 clips and 2 rubbers, for £50 from Brookhouse.

Annoyingly vat is not included in the advertised price, so this is added to the prices and delivery which is certainly not at Royal Mail prices for <2Kg to N.I.

Skandix indicates to use some sort of flexible bulky adhesive, but I had expected to use 5mm trim tape. Any advice on this?

I bought two of these rubber strips on ebay ....1.6M U-Type Sealing Strip Dashboard Soundproof Dustproof Car Interior Stickers

I took the old strip out and cleaned the window and metal outer trim. Then applied and filled the gap with this black sealant, then fitted the cut to length rubber strip into the sealant. The result was impressive, easy and not expensive at all
