Default Rear Shock Replacement

Last MOT I had a “Slight misting of oil” near side rear shock absorber.
I believe that state has now changed to plain old failed.

Euro / GSF don’t list any replacement parts.

Any idea where here can I get new shocks from?

91 estate. Non independent/ not nivomat.

Job doesn’t look too hard at all.

For OE parts check your main dealer first or FRF. If they are not Nivomat they shouldn’t be too expensive but better than fitting poor quality ones from a factor.
If you’re handy with a spanner/socket the job is relatively easy, only two bolts for each shocker, one top, one bottom, provided that you can free them. If they are seized you may need some releasing fluid and some patience.

Any issue replacing oil filled with gas?

I've owned many cars over the years, but never changed a shock!

Not a stranger to the spanners... doesn't look like a bad job at all - assuming those lower bolts are rust welded!

I'll order two and do both sides. If one's gone I'll bet the other will follow shortly.

It's the top studs and nuts that will be welded with rust. Better order new before you start. I bought all lower bolts as well

No 17 spring cap is NLA

There are plenty of useful threads in this Section about what makes/combinations of non-Nivos and springs people have fitted successfully.
