Dropped Kerb Applications

Hi to All

I would be very grateful if anybody can help me with this. A work colleague has followed the procedure online to his local council and I have checked with him and it leads to the following window. It appears that scaled loation plans are now required? Years ago an application for a dropped kerb was an easy cheap procedure but it all appears to have changed! Does anyone know the cheapest way to get these plans done?

I would suggest a phone call to the local highways dept and have a chat, they're normally pretty amenable to discussing what's required. Try that first.

I no longer seem to have the online copies of my documents, but there are online suppliers who can provide location plans extracted from OS mapping at the required scale. You just have to draw around the specific location in red and/or blue pen as indicated.

As I recall, my local authority gave me a list of map suppliers when I asked.

The easiest would probably be to use your own title plan as that will have your property marked on it in red and should be to scale. In your case you then would need to go over the red boundary to make it blue - I suggest printing it out in black & white and then colour the parts as required with pens.
If you don't have a copy to hand and getting it from the conveyancing solicitor is awkward/costly then you can easily get an electronic copy of the plan on it's own from the land registry for £3.00 (it will be in a pdf)
You will have to register to access the system but it's easy, quick and doesn't cost anything until you start actually buying titles/plans.

Some Councils have the On-Line maps available, I know West Berks Used to.
