Default Rear wiper fuse

My rear wiper had suffered the common failure of seizing up and was blowing the fuse instantly when I got the car. After rebuilding the motor assembly it worked on continuous mode but would stutter on the return movement when switched off or in intermittent mode.

In the end it got stuck on that return movement and I wasn’t able to see it for stuff in the boot, which has resulted in it melting the wires within the tailgate harness.

I’ve got a replacement harness and wiper motor on the way, but wondered if it was worth using a lower amp fuse for it in future, 15A seemed high anyway for just the one motor.

things with motors have a high inrush current when they first turn on - it may pop if you lower it

Thanks, I hadn't considered that.

I've fitted the replacement harness and motor, working fine so I'll just stick with the 15A fuse.
