In that case my comments re quality are invalid insofar as they apply to the PREVIOUS (Ford based) generation. I do like the look of the new gen model and once aspired to own one but my Volvo experience (and that of my brother with a 12 month old XC60) is such i will not buy another. Indeed i am looking at cutting my losses and bailing out of it later this year.

I own an XC90 T8 and had a SPA V60 as a loaner once. It was an 'entry level' version (with the B3 engine, cloth seats, manual adjustable). Build quality and comfort of the interior is outstanding, just like my XC90.
I'm not so sure about the durability of the new SPA models as I already had a couple of issues with my car (nothing to do with the hybrid drive train, by the way). My old XC90 V8 was trouble free for the whole time I owned it. I am starting to miss it quite a bit.
Before I would have said: go for the Volvo but today I am not so sure anymore.
