I bought my S90 pre-reg at 4 months old with delivery miles on it for 33% off list. Amazed to see that prices are literally through the floor with the value now about 1/3rd of the £50k list price.
I'm not about to sell it. And I've been here before where values drop due to market factors and then recover...

Wow, such incredible deals guys! Here in the Netherlands we pay premium prices, even for CPO's. Yeah, you can get one a bit cheaper but then you have to purchase it from a shady seller, not an official Volvo dealer. For all you know it could be a lemon that a dealer wanted to get rid of.

Think it's worth noting that big luxury cars tend to lose a lot of money comparable to smaller or cheaper models. If you guys want a new Volvo without the depreciation, the first XC40 dropped below £20k on Autotrader in the last couple of weeks. Most are £22k and up. And that's for a basic Momentum with a manual gear box and 60k miles on an 18 reg. List prices started from around £28k I think, so it's lost perhaps 25% of its value in 30+ months? That's incredible.

£9000 to £10000 off a new XC90 on the Volvo website currently if you take a four year PCP. It's nuts.

I really like the XC40 (as second car, that is) and as soon as the P8 becomes affordable (less than 30K) I will trade in our Kona for that :-) |

That's exactly what we'll be doing, probably a couple of years away yet though! 200bhp would be more than enough for us, a 'P4' perhaps?
Almost pulled the trigger on a XC40 T3 R-Design just as lockdown hit but decided to wait, get a used one once the pandemic passed and we needed a second car. The pandemic is passing, but the prices haven't dropped. Think with the VOC discount it would have come to £27k for a car that would easily fetch £25k today judging by Autotrader's pricing... C'est la vie! Hence why I'm now lurking for a good V60 deal - lot more car, lot less money. |
