If these parts haven't been replaced already, they'll be due by age anyway (regardless of the mileage).
Yes, they were all done at 105k miles. It's now on 149k.

Booked in for a service next week, £140 + £100 for gearbox fluid change.

After a few miles I find the driving a bit different to my V50 despite the same age, engine and gearbox. The C70 is smoother and quieter, and the acceleration more progressive but not quite as quick (probably due to the extra weight). The handling is softer and it feels like a bigger car. No rattles or squeaks with the roof up or down.

Overall, it's great, and amazing value for money.

Lovely car Wilbur. C70's are great value for what you get.

The D5 auto is a great cruiser. The diesel torque and auto box are well suited.

All good advice above, especially the door locks. When they pop open at speed it can be very disconcerting!

The gearbox fluid change is a no brainer for £100.

Roof and seal maintenance/servicing is well documented and easy enough to do yourself on a sunny day (see attached). Just make sure you use the proper lubricants. Volvo genuine or Krytox GPL105/ZAROX OYN 14/Slugslime Fluorofluid (eBay etc.) on the roof seals.

Keep the boot seal drains clear otherwise your boot will become an aquarium!

A space saver and and a genuine wind deflector might be on your shopping list. Getting expensive now though.

It looks like you have halogen headlights. These are about as much use as a damp candle, so you will probably want to upgrade the bulbs at some point. Nightbreakers etc. are a popular direct upgrade or lots of people are now using Nighteye LEDs (me included).

Enjoy your C70

Agree re using the proper lube for the seals. A little goes a very long way - which is good, because it's fiercely expensive!

OP, just check exactly what you're getting for your £100 gearbox fluid change - ensure it's the correct 3309 spec, and what and how they will be doing it. £100's a bit cheap for anything more than a sump drop and refill (and a bit expensive for just that, iyswim!)

My T5's the same colour - a bit of a chameleon, sometimes it looks quite greeny to me.

Thanks for all the advice, chaps. My garage is a respected Volvo specialist and they looked after my V50 well since I first got it. I'll chat to them about the points you've made.

First I've heard. Silicone spray is fine to use on rubber... it says so on the tin. I've used it on all rubber parts for years & never had an issue.

WD40 oil for example isn't good for rubber. WD40 Silicone spray is fine.

The stuff andy_d linked Gummi Pflege is great for convertibles - keeps the squeaks at bay in my old E36 328i drop top. I think the reason it works is that it softens the rubber as well as lubricating it.

Would suggest using that rather than any other generic lubricants, silicone or otherwise.

Lovely looking car you've picked up there. But as Zapcity says ,keep an eye on the drain holes. Admittedly My C70 is the old rag top, at one point I could have kept Koi Carp in the boot. Thankfully now sorted.
