Default V70 T5 Emissions System Service + dodgy idle.

Hi guys

So my CE light came on today, mixed with the "emissions system service reqd" message. From searching the forums I've basically worked out that it could be bloody anything from a filler cap to a MAF sensor.

I was wondering if there might be any more accurate diagnosis from the fact that after driving to my destination and spending about 30 minutes there, upon starting it up again it had a really chuggy idle. Sounded like a muscle car with really harsh racing cams on it. I drove it the 26 miles home as slow as I could get away with on the M5 and by the time I got home again it was idling fine.

The car was straight piped by the previous owner, no cat, mufflers, or resonators and I've noticed also recently it's popping and banging when I lift off the throttle more than previously. It also has been taking a little smidge longer to start over the last couple of days, maybe 2 or 3 more cranks of the starter.

TIA for any help anyone can offer and for reading through this essay of a post!

BTW I will be getting the codes read but probably won't be able to do that for a few days so just trying to get a picture of what the problem might be. Thanks
