Default D5252T with GT28 turbo

Hello my volvo now have GT28(wg tubo) turbo there any isues to reduce turbo lag? Now turbo starting spool at 3k rpm and have 0.9bar boost. GIBONTA Race nozzles 0.260, new ic, straight exhaust, ecu chip not too much. There is no black smoke. When rmp gets about 4k rpm turbo spool nice 1,5bar. Any ideas how to reduce turbo lag ??

Use a smaller turbo ;-)
Less inertia quicker spoolup but less top end power
Cant have both worlds , or have a vnt turbo , takes care of most of the lag....but your ecu doesnt support that function

How about fuel pump injection timing change? If make it earler i shoud get faster spool?

After long searching i found that he221w turbo fits for 5cyl engine. How about this turbo spool? This turbo makes better mid and high rpm range?

Youre chasing ghosts, turbo mass is too high
Even if you have the right size turbo you will be restricted top end and still have some lag
If you want driveabilety with no or little lag , you have to have a variable vane turbo or dual turbo setup, but again your ecu doesnt support that
The best you can do in this situation is a somewhat normal turbosize and get your air/fuel ratio to no less than 20/19 to one to supress smoke.
Thats all you can do
