New Tyres For Your 850 T5
Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that I got 4 new tyres fitted yesterday to my 854 T5 for £260 all in, an absolute bargain if you ask me. I ordered the Goodyear Ventura but after having looked at the tyre, it says Goodyear Eagle F1. I dont know if it was an error on their part or whether this is the equivalent of the Venture Model. What makes it even more spectacular is that they came around to my house to do it! The web site is http://www.eventmobiletyres.com and the telephone number is 0870 240 7787 . Dont mention my details or car as I dont want them coming back to my house and replacing them with my old ones. Just thought some of you guys might want to know! Regards, Brendan |

Cheers for that Brendan.
I'm about to get some tyres and was going to go for Kumho Ecsta 112's at about £50 each. However, having read your post I thought I'd check them out. I think you probably did get a good deal on your tyres - I was quoted £79 fully fitted at home for Goodyear Eagle F1's. After only budgeting £100 for tyres I was apprehensive but then thought sod it and took the plunge. I'm getting two branded tyres for a lot less than usual and only a bit more than the Kumho's I was planning on buying. I've also read goo things about the Goodyears so fingers crossed I'll like them. They're coming out tomorrow between 11am and 1pm. I tried to pay them over the phone but the guy said that they don't take payment until the tyres are fitted and I'm fully satisfied! I'll post my thoughts over the weekend. Regards Andy |

Andy
From reading the forums, I have picked the best tyres for the job. I was going to get Pirelli P6000's (more expensive at £85) but thank God I didnt. They have got very bad reviews for T5's in regards to the handling, wear etc. The only downfall for the F1's were that they tend to deflate a bit so keep an eye on them. I heard though that if you inflate them with Nitrogen, it solves the problem. Does anyone know where I can get this done and how much it costs. Cheers, Brendan |

RE: New Tyres For Your 850 T5
Well, as mentioned above, I called them yesterday afternoon and booked a visit for today. They said they'd be here between 11am and 1pm.
At 11:20 the guy turned up. Quick chat over a cuppa about what I wanted. I wanted the new tyres on the front even though the better tread is supposed to be on the rear so I asked him to swap fronts to back. I also asked him to torque them correctly (but said I'd do it if it was a problem). He got his excellent pneumatic jacks out (I want one of those!) and started work. Half an hour later I had two new tyres on the front (balanced and with new valves), the front wheels moved to the back, all torqued up correctly and looking fantastic. £158 (plus a fiver for a drink or two) for two Goodyear Eagle F1's. Fantastic. I couldn't recommend them enough. Oh, and how are the tyres? Brilliant! I had to nip out this morning and it was raining so I though it would be a good chance to test tyre abilities. With the old tyres (Kumho Ecsta 112's) on the front I booted it in second. When the turbo boosted the wheels just spun. Later I did the same on the same part of the road with the new tyres on. The grip was noticeably better. OK, so the tread was deeper but the Kumho's aren't all that worn. Anyway, there you have it. I'll be getting another two at the end of the month. Regards Andy |

Its the old story of it depends on how you drive, if you do a lot of motorway driving at a steady pace will will get excellent mileage, most of my driving is country and so far about 14,000 miles, the rear has loads on but front wear quicker so in a couple of more thousand i will swap them around front for rear.
