XC 90 seat too high
Hi, a search reveals nothing, but it appears my XC 90 seat is too high for me it's electric, motored down as far it'll go and I'm 6'1".
When I'm driving I seem to have to stoop to get visibility below the shade strip, maybe this is because I have a low position in my golf and am used to a lower viewpoint. If I sit upright in the volvo I seem to be staring at the sunvisor. Reclining doesnt seem to help. There's stacks of space below the seat, has anyone lowered the seat 'superstructure' I'm hardly tall, but my neck hurts! Rgds and apologies if this is a daft question. |

Morning, I'm 6'5" but havnt noticed that, will check my shaded area.
I do though tilt my base section up at the front and down at the back, liking the support it gives your legs. I do also like my seat reclined, assuming the lotus position I call it. Will have a fiddle today and let you know my outcome. |

Thanks Bill, as I say I'm not really tall, it's almost certainly me but there seems to be about 4 inches below the seat to the floor, the seat motors are all above that.

Obviously none of us sit the same etc etc, but in my normal position the point at which the shading starts is more less exactly level with my eyes.
I read on another post somewhere certain models due to equipment spec the seats would not go as low as others, maybe this your issue. |

I have the same problem but it seems its due to the seats on the exec version having the massage function. My old se lux v8 was fine but the D5 exec my head almost touches the roof!

I have always noticed this with our cars at work. Some of them you can get the seat right in, others you sit too high. All the cars are identical spec. It seems a quirk with Volvo that the seats are fitted in different ways.

As I sit in car my eyes are pretty much level with the shade strip but to me that feels like I'm sitting too high, I think it's because I sit so low in the golf: I'll try a bit more recline .
Bill: 6'5'' in a bronze XC 90 with LEDs, you won't be hard to see! Rgds |
