I would say that being needlessly distracted is very much a safety issue which should be given high priority, this being Volvo and all.

There is a mod for rear seats wether it works or not ?
I honestly believe if it's only stop start that giving you problems ,then you have won a watch ,there's loads out there with plenty of sw issues and eml faults

I claim my watch! Even the stop/start works, although I wish it didn't. Or not until and only when I want it to.

Is it a poor dealer issue that is responsible for many unresolved problems on existing cars?

Stop start is working okay today so hope it is fixed, after getting the sensus update they told me to expect a few odd things to happen for the first day as systems settle in, one or two things have rebooted or have had to be set back to how I had them, but all seems okay now.

Stop/Start stops the engine only after a three second delay while adaptive cruise or pilot assist are activated.

Why not have that delay in all drive modes? It would save a whole lot of aggravation on roundabouts and junctions etc.
In addition to voice control toggling on-off of the function of course, but any small mercy would be welcome.

The casual reader may be under the impression that this is an exclusive Volvo issue, where as it is actually an almost universal issue with automatic transmission cars fitted with stop-start. No such problem with manual transmission cars, because the driver can choose whether to let the system stop the engine or not by the simple expedient of choosing whether to select neutral and releasing the clutch pedal or not. No such choice is given to owners with automatic transmissions.

I agree that there should be a short delay before stop start stops the engine, it is a bind when waiting to turn right and and in other situations, and more functions like this should be able to be controlled via voice control. But its good to have mine working again even if it causes some inconveniences, like when I am parking in front of my house and trying to get as close to the wall as possible to stop paper boy, leaflet distributers etc squeezing through the gap and risk of scratching car but stop start cuts in as I have foot on the brake to creep up slowly.

It's definitely not a dealer issue, they can only do what a tj or recall tells them or technical

Yes I agree, it's now doing what it was designed to do and in line with other cars, but like most things there could be improvements, like being able to use voice control to turn it off when not required instead of having to look in sensus and finding the icon when concentration required, like when maneuvering up to my wall.

There is a way of preventing stop/start with the Volvo auto box in our cars. Just before you come to a halt, flick the gear lever to manual mode and stop/start is inhibited until you flick it back to auto mode after you set off again. This is just as easy as what you'd do with a manual box.

This sounds like a great game, name saloons over the years with rear wipers.

I start with the MK5 escort saloon (think maybe still called the Orion).

Oh, and I am sure an early 90s civic saloon had one......

Any other offers?
