Freebies with your XC90 order
I have noticed a few people mention they have unexpectedly had options or accessories added to their build when they didn't order it, is this standard across the board for XC90 orders? I got the 3-pin plug socket included for free, and I read a few people mention they got the CD player for free as well, ironically they both come in as £100 on the order list.
So is this common, or some of us have been lucky?

It's not common but seems to happen occasionally.
I mistakenly got the 4-zone rear climate system and cooled glovebox for free on my first XC90 last July but unfortunately I had to reject the car because of another problem. Needless to say, the replacement car was built correctly. Sob.

I received absolutely zero, not even a full tank of fuel as they took off the fuel used to travel from one dealer to the one I bought from, which was only about 30 miles.

I got a full tank of fuel put in by the salesman. That was it. No chocolates, no flowers for the wife, etc etc

Perhaps it is a reflection on how good a deal you negotiated for the car itself! Strip the dealer back to the lowest profit margin they'd accept and they might be less willing for freebies?
I got; - Full tank of fuel (I did have to travel ~200 miles to collect the car) - Two XC90 remote controlled cars - Free three pin charge cable as I had ordered the Type2 one thinking it was in addition to the three pin. The dealer ordered it for me for no cost Now I'm thinking I didn't get as good a deal on the car as I thought... |

If it helps, when we ordered the car, I was presented with a beautiful big gourmet food hamper, with products from France, Italy, Sweden, Spain etc... And a full tank of fuel
Upon pickup, we received yet another large gourmet food hamper, a Volvo Golf Umbrella and plastic mats for the boot. Moreover, in the mail just received a wonderful welcome pack, complete with a diary, a Volvo Pen, 2 Volvo keyrings and a book detailing the history of Volvo and it's future. Can't complain about the service. Even the salesman at the time was from Sweden, and talked quite a bit about Swedish culture and why Volvo and Swedes are different to say the Germans. Lovely. |
