Will be interesting to see what my old motor does to the tank, she's now got 100k plus on the odometer and this coming weekend we are setting off from Halifax to Abingdon oxfordshire then travelling down to Hove then return trip back home.
Three weeks ago we drove to Oban got the ferry To Craignure Mull, drove to Tobermory, circumnavigated the Isle Of Mull and drove back to the ferry terminal before tanking up in Oban for the trip home via the scenic route through Glencoe.
Halifax to Oban 306miles
Craignure to tobermory 21 miles
Tour of Mull approx 40miles
Total cost of fuel for the round trip £100.00
according to my calculations thats an average 33mpg at motorway speeds, not too bad for an old timer.

yes i was but i have to have this car for towing and when i was out with my mates we were going somewhere that i hadn't been before and had to try to keep up and to be honest the roads that we were on were good roads and i never drive out of my capabilities i know when to back off i have been there and had a massive smash when i was 19 that the copper was suprised that i pulled myself out so i now know what it fells like to loose it in a car and dont ever let myself get close to that limit anymore i am still suffering from my big crash now nearly 5 years on so i can say drive fast when you know its safe to and drive sesibly when its not(or you cant afford too)

01 V40 1.8 Auto = 382.4 miles 54.2 litres put in, works out at 32.1 mpg (i think the volvo official combined figure is 32 mpg). normally get around 300 miles. thats a mix of town driving and a motorway trip to lake windamere and back.
I reckon i might get 500 miles when i go scotland in june, its gonna get a good service before i set off (oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, coolant, cambelt change and gearbox oil change.

why does the bottom half of my fuel tank go twice as fast as the top half?????

I've just hit 390 miles in mine, the computer thinks I have another 155 miles before empty, I reckon there is about 60 before the light comes on, I've been driving pretty steady, its all about the cruise if you ask me.

Default Cardiff to Swansea & return

I drive this run daily and this last week I decided to see what I can get on the run - full tank test for the week.

My journey from house to M4 is about 3 miles on back roads and then 42 miles to Swansea & return after a working day.

I did get 40.1 mpg average last week and again this week im on average of exactly 40mpg with 155miles to empty tank and 482 miles done. This is a steady run with cruise set at 58-60 mph.

When I have done the run on a kinda busy and late for work week it has gone as low as 32mpg

On cruise down a motorway, the c70 t5 will give me about 35-36 mpg at 70 which is good in opinion. I do have some pics of the computer on a trip to the volvo agm somewhere.

The 740 is a different beast entirely and I will get 200 miles out of the tank (£50 fillup) driving slowly. On a quick spirited drive, I will get 80 miles from the tank.

I'll see what i get from mine next month.

Were off down to Saint Just-Luzac (France). I reckon i can push close to 800 miles since the remap. Got over 750 miles last year when we went to La Rochelle.

Will let you all know and report back.
