Sooty tailpipes
Noticed on another Volvo diesel today that the exhaust tailpipes were quite clean internally, but on my 50,000 mile manual D3 they very quickly get sooty after a clean.
Performance-wise, it’s brilliant, can’t fault that, but any ideas? We use Mrs B’s petrol Nissan around town and for short journeys when we can.

Do you have a record of when the air filter was last changed and was it a genuine Volvo or reputable replacement filter fitted?

Thanks. Yes, just before lockdown, but I’m not sure if it was genuine or pattern
