11 Volvo v70 1.6 Drive rattle?

The car is making a rattle under acceleration but not in idle or when revving it... It’s diesel as the title suggests, seems to pull as well as it usually does no other warnings or lights on dash. Just a metallic ping or click... more like a pinging can’t give more information than that and it doesn’t do it throughout the whole Rev range.

I’m doing the front discs and pads when they come next week hopefully so I can look around to see if anything obvious is worn and change things but won’t know what is actually causing this specific noise.

. Anyone else had this on the 1.6d?

No smoke as far as I’m aware either and I have not long ago stuck a full tank of V power and wynns extreme injector cleaner in because someone told me it could be dirty injectors and or carbon build up, (made no difference yet)
Or overheating but don’t have a temp gauge to look at and it doesn’t smell hot or run badly not even the fan cuts in unless it has to like it would normally.

Not had the car long wasn’t a lot of money anyways but I’d rather have some idea if it might need something expensive so I can save or get rid of it before anything goes wrong lol.
It’s got a very good history last fuel filter was at 107k now it’s on about 112k also had the cambelt and water pump done at 90k ish due to a leaking pump, it’s all there in the paper work.
Any ideas on what to check out would be amazing and might put my worried head to rest!

Mine has always done this, like a clattering as you give it some throttle in the lower gears, but quieter with each gear as you go up the box.

Sounds like an old non-turbo diesel landrover.

Yea but this is more of a rattle than that kind of agricultural diesel noise but it does seem to be a bit quieter up the box I suppose. I’ll try to get some audio of it when it happens and post it up here when I get a chance to thanks mate 👍🏼
