240 SE 2.3L J-reg.
The time has come to cull my 240 collection and so a new home is needed for this old girl.
She has just failed MOT on the following points: One tail light and both rear number plate lights not working. Offside rear seat belt damaged. Offside front shock absorber leaking. Offside front (steering rack) steering arm has relative movement at its fixings. Offside front wheel bearing excessive play. Nothing to fatal but beyond my present budget. MOT runs out on 4/11, taxed till end of January. She is a very presentable model, drives well and has been totally reliable since I bought her in 2008. Situated in Exeter, 5 mins from J29 on the M5. I need £200 towards the exhaust on my 240GLT so anyone with an offer near to that, or a good way there could collect and drive her away before the 4th. I will try to get some photos up tomorrow. Happy to answer any queries, but have nowhere to break her so no parts enquiries please! |

Hi Ken a little more detail would be very nice.
auto or manual ? saloon or estate? colour? wheels steel or alloy? interior trim colour? Sorry to hear your having to reduce your collection but nice of you to offer it here first where it hopefully will be brought back to running condition again. Regards Brian. |

Hi Ken That's a very nice looking car you have there, thanks for the answers by the way.Gold now you don't see that colour very often!
I also have the bug as I have two on the road (240SE-740GLE) and another two (K reg 240SE-240GLT) work in progress and a 240 my old F reg for spares and used for storing bits in.It's sad when you have to out one. I'm hoping the K reg 240SE will become my main car as it's manual and 2.3l and pretty much the last of the line in production. It does need a serious amount of tidying though. I hope someone buys yours and puts in the small amount of work to sort it. Regards Brian. |

This will be saved from the banger racers and lovingly cherished as pride of the fleet from Sunday ;-)

Hoorah!! Well done that man.I hope you enjoy your new aquisition.
As for"The Fleet" am I to assume you also have the affliction known as VOLVITAS DOMESTICAS. Maybe we should have our own badge like the high mileage ones. For instance my user name should be "minesa240 x four+740 x one,And thats not counting the 240 I got rid of and the 940 about to go. Cheers Brian. |
