Changed the T5 plugs yesterday - don't think any more than pots 1, 2 and 3 had been changed since the car was built (approx 115K on the clock), all three way over tightened ! Pots 4 & 5 were much easier to remove, almost certainly at the correct original torque perhaps pointing to "someone" not moving the turbo tube to get to the coils

The gaps on all were huge, literally no exposed electrodes left on 4 and 5!

I deftly broke the locking clip on pot number 3's coil connector when I removed it but managed to securely cable tie it back into position.

Today and Many days before have now managed to change the bearing on the a/c compressor, took the P/S pump off, Alternator off, lifted the compressor enough to remove the clutch and pulley, job done, at last !!! (One video was showing how the pulley can be taken off by pulling with their fingers !!!) They stated it appeared a bit tight !!!

Today I looked at a 2012 XC-90 Rdesign w/125K. It appeared to be a 3.2 non-turbo.

I'm driving it tomorrow.

I am considering trading my departed sister's 2012 Mazda3 iTouring w/65K plus some cash for it.

Wish me luck

Default fitted facelift headlight

Having received the FREE headlights from Blaster finally managed to fit them.
First I needed to fabricate some adapters, because the plugs were different.
I went today to an MOT service to adjust the new headlights, but it was not necessary.
They are perfect.

Once again a big THANK YOU goes to Blaster

This is great news
I hate to see waste and am thrilled that you’ve been able to use the lights rather than me throw them away
Win Win

Trying to figure out if it's worth fixing my 2000 v70. The cars running bad, oil in the turbo pipes, cylinders are missing occasionally, Positive pressure in the crankcase, and a trans that is slipping some times.....

I left an aggressively driven mx5 as a spec in my mirror when I was gently pooteling back from the shop.

T'wouldn't have outpaced my (son's) Eunos Roadster a '92 Japanese only market & grey import that out strides my 2.3 T5 250 BHP by around 75BHP per tonne!!! - serious piece of original kit - trouble is, he lives on a farm & the Eunos doesn't cope with the ruts...what a shame....so it has to sit on our drive and be driven a couple of times a month to stop the discs fouling up..........what a PITB...NAH!

Great smiles....SWMBO appreciates the fact that it is easy to park and she can fit her handbag in the boot....!?!?!?!

I just grin every time I hit the loud pedal

On Wednesday I changed the nearside front wheel bearing, the only tweak to the regular method was to slice the rusty bolt ends off by using an angle grinder.

This meant that I didn't have to drag the rusty bolt ends through the tapped bearing holes.

The old bearing was notchy and noisy, I was rewarded with a smooth and quiet 200 mile trip down to Glasgow, with an indicated 60mpg.

Not bad for a 2 tonne AWD behemoth!
