The timings were all over the place. We arrived in good time (12.30) and were parked up on the right of the track. That gave us lots of time to eat and socialise. We were back in the car and ready to roll a good 15 mins before the scheduled start (2.30) only to hear the rumour that it had been (possibly) delayed until 3pm. Amazingly there were still some folk going for burgers while the early rows waited patiently....
When the start was eventually given, it was the cars that had arrived last that were allowed to go first and by the time we moved off it was already a slow, stop start gridlock.....I'm glad I was in an auto !

no one was "locked out", the gates were shut at 2pm which was always the case. Security did radio thru about someone refusing to leave, but that was after 2pm

Didn't really pay any attention to our time of arrival, finished up parked second row in from right of track[iirc]to our right was a white left hooker with HR as country identifier on number plate and his mate behind him in a blue left hooker.Just had time to unload great grand kids and get them to loos grab a drink[there wouldn't have been time to queue for food as the lines were so long]and get back to car in time for scheduled start time.

the internal holding areas at Bruntingthorpe were full & traffic spilling out onto the road & into the village. I go there at 6.30am & was followed in by someone who was "just early" lol
