2002 v40 s40 indicator relay removal difficulties
Hi, I am having problems removing my faulty indicator relay from my v40 (Im told it is exactly the same as the s40)
Where it is located is very awkward to reach and it doesn't seem to want to come out. I can reach it with vice grips, and when I wriggle it around the hazards start to work again and I can drive for a while with everything working ok again. But it is starting to let me down again so I want to replace it with a new one.. has anyone any insights as to how I can remove the relay. It is a black plastic cube housed in a slightly larger white holder which is located just above the accelerator, behind the bonnet lever and seems to plug directly onto the circuit board. There are two tabs holding it in place. Had to remove some screws so that the piece everything is mounted on could dangle a bit and I could get to the tab on the backside. In the end I think I destroyed the one on the backside, keeping the one in front accessible next time if ever. US model, hope it's close enough to help.

thanks for the reply Teekizle.. I didn't realise there was a tab at the back.. the indicators started working again for a few weeks but they failed again yesterday, so Im going to have to sort it out before it lets me down in rush hour traffic... cheers!
