Exclamation CEM VIN Coding/Programming

Hi all,

I have replaced the CEM module with a like for like part and model number after the current CEM module failed (car not starting IMOB/TRANSMISSION/COOLANT/DTSC fault on dash no comms with ECU), I now have to code/program the correct VIN number into the CEM module so it will talk to the ECU. Other than getting the car to a Volvo main dealer is there any other way of doing this??

Thanks in advance.

Roy

I've a nagging feeling you can't program used parts, and that you instead need new ones from a dealer.

Either way, it'd be a dealer job, as VIDA itself is about 80 quid for 3 days access or something ludicrous.

Cannot remember his name but I am sure there is someone on here you send your Cem module too who repairs it.

You need a laptop with a DICE unit and VDASH software running to do this .
Also will need to pay to use some of the software.

Volvo can't reprogram a 2nd hand unit.
The original CEM unit did it still show up on the network or was it missing when you looked for it ?, If so probably easier to send both units away so the replacement can be cloned from the original one.

The second hand unit could also be returned to a Virgin state and a PIN code issued with it .
