Default The day has come - time to let go of the V40...

After 180k of trouble free miles, it is finally time to let the old V40 go (2004 1.9D Sport). It has been by far the most reliable (and in some ways the best) car we have ever owned. It has done 226k and still runs well, but is showing its age and creaking a bit! Not leaving altogether though, and will soon be joining the S60 crowd.. I'd considered keeping the V40 a little longer but the S60 was too good to turn down (previously owned by a family member).

I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for their help and advice over the years. You'll be missed. Fingers crossed that the S60 crowd are as accommodating! Particular thanks go to the 'stalwarts' of the forum (such as Gatos, Skyship007, Canis - sorry if I haven't mentioned you all) who have helped out on many occasions..

It seems a shame to scrap the V40 (that's the current plan). It has many relatively new bits (calipers for example), only 1 previous owner, fsh, and run on Mobil 1 fully-synthetic since we bought it at 50k. If anyone is interested in taking it away for scrap value (been quoted £150) they would be most welcome. I'll pop an advert on the "for sale" section tonight...

Best regards and happy V40 motoring to you all..

Oh, I've some metal gaskets for between the block and the EGR valve - free to a good home!
