Decent solid colours suit big Volvo cars IMHO.
There is a V70 near me in bright red that looks stunning.
Silver looks old now.

Colours are pretty subjective Luggesy particularly on a car.

Since looking for an XC90 I've seen loads of Black ones advertised as " In the best colour"! For me it's the worst.

I don't like them in Bright Red or Dark Maroon either but I do like the Dark Blue Metallic, Gunmetal Grey and the Light Green.

I've also found that the beige leather interior seems to deteriorate far more quickly than the black which is strange as the Beige leather in my old S60 was still pristine when I sold it.

I'm in no desperate rush so something right will turn up especially as I don't mind travelling a considerable distance once I've ascertained from the owner EXACTLY what condition it is in with additional photos and proper conversation.

Ah well, back to the Internet to check out Autotrader, Ebay, Gumtree, Preloved, Pistonheads, Exchange and Mart, RAC cars .

Mines got the cream leather, the leather crack lines are dark making it look old!
You don't see the leather crack lines so bad on the black so that's good, but bloody hot in summer!
You don't like red, funny isn't it, I think the v70 near me looks amazing in bright red.
Black body is ok if you like cleaning and polishing.
The dark blue metallic is Barents Blue I think that's what mine is, good solid colour.

Hi Luggsey, my XC70 is Barents Blue but on the XC90 the colour I like is Magic Blue Pearl.

My Xc70 has Black Leather and there isn't a mark on it even after 182k. Weird isn't it although I do keep feeding it with Gliptone which is excellent stuff.

The black seats are probably just as filthy as the beige ones at the same mileage.
You can't see it but it's there when you sit on it just the same

I'm not talking about dirt, what I'm saying is that the Black seats in my XC70 have no cracks in them unlike every Beige seat that I have seen in a 10 year old XC90. The seats however are totally different in design .

THE SEARCH IS OVER

Finally bought one, a 2007 ( 07 ) SE Geartronic in Willow Green with Black leather seats. It's a clean car with 119K on the clock and only two owners with full Volvo stamped History.

It's just had 2 new wishbones fitted and front and rear discs/pads/shoes within the last month . I came in at under £4k which I'm very happy with.

Hopefully, it's been worth the wait !.
