Default Strange electrical item on rear suspension arm...

Hi all, while doing my brakes yesterday I spotted this on the passengers side rear arm/wishbone, anyone got any idea what it is or what it does, as the arm part was disconnected from its socket so I've refitted it but it hasn't made a blind bit of difference to anything anywhere so far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance
