Default Srut Brace - Where from?

I've read articles on here about strut braces and the difference they make.

I do alot of country road driving, bends, bumps, potholes etc and was wondering are they worth it and will I notice the difference?

If so where can I get one from?

Many thanks
Jon

I recommend them if you want to improve handling

You will notice the difference in the stiffness and body roll, especially around corners. I live in Cornwall, full of bends, potholes and country roads. Few bumps dont really bother me

Default Strut Brace...where from?

I just got one from Rufe at Swansea (?) Volvo for my C70 cabrio..I could feel the difference as soon as I left the garage. Well worth £62. There is a thread here somewhere that gives his address and phone number.

No worries man, ummm pretty much anywhere online. Even ebay, parts for volvo online, Heico etc. Price range depends on brand, but tbh the cheaper ones do the same as the brand named ones so it doesnt really matter. Volvo might even sell their ones that come with the R-Designs if you wanna keep it OEM.

Browse the net I recommend and see what you can find

Mine came from my local Volvo dealer. IIRC it cost about £120 including all the required nuts and bolts. If you do get a Volvo OEM one make sure you get the replacement 4 bolts and nuts for it and don't just use four of the existing ones. The replacement bolts lift the bar up by about 6mm which means you'll still be able to get the battery cover off when the strut brace is installed.

Where to buy?

http://www.frfvolvo.co.uk/mo-volvo-parts.asp

Thats Rufe at FRF Volvo who offer genuine discounts to us forum members. Also in our traders section. I got mine a couple of weeks ago for about £60 for my C70. Definately makes the front end more taught, even noticed it being a bit more stable over speed bumps and generally holds lines around corners better than before. A definate worthwhile upgrade.

Thumbs down

Just tried Simon at FRF and he has never come accross this accessory for S40 and cant offer advice so not v helpful this time, not to worry.
I have however sourced one for £40 which I will fit myself. There is one at partsforvolvo at £99 and there is also a universal one on Ebay for £40 or so

Rgds
