Other S60 Problem: - Cruise Control Radio steering wheel module not working

Can someone please help me? Thank you in anticipation. I have a 2002 Volvo 2.0 Petrol T.S Auto with 82000 on the clock. The central control module on the steering wheel has stopped working. When I try to activate the cruise control it will not work nor will the radio volume and station changing controls both these are inop.

My friend connected his code reader which is a very good one to the port and cleared all the faults, apart from one, it reads ECM-928C ECU, communication error: Faulty.

Has this anything to do with my cruise control and radio control not working on the steering wheel module?

I would just like to know what I have to change to rectify this problem?

Is it a process of elimination and if so how do I start please as this looks very complicated. I live in Retford Notts is anyone near me that is on the forum and would be able to help? If not I will look myself. I would be very, very, grateful for a reply as I love this car dearly but need my cruise to work as it is very important to me.

Hi Rod,

Have you got any further with your fault code?
I have a 2002 S60 2.4T.
Fault codes are; CEM-1 A5B & ECM-928C, both are faulty signal/communication.
None of the steering wheel functions work, only basic wipers and lights, no turn signals etc.

Have you got a built in car phone?
I have issues with radio steering controls if the phone is on. However cruise works
