Default 70 dash in an 850?

saw this on FLEABAY

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-VOLVO-850...item414d26faee

look at bottom right pic, it is cleary a 70 dash, but in an 850. now either he has wrong pic [but mileage in pic matches milage in ad], or you can fit a 70 dash in a 50. has anyone done such a fit?

i took this pic from the auction, if you zoom in, you can see it is indeed a 70 dash in there

it cant have been fitted from new, so i would doubt the milage can match the car correctly?

ah just looks like a 70 one, but the milage readout is digital, so unless done correctly by a dealer then whats the chances it is genuine?

thats what i thought, if the clocks are from a scrapped 70, unless a dealer redid the milage to match the 50, they would be wrong. You have to ask yourself, would a dealer fit 70 gauges to a 50, nope, so they musthave been done on someones drive.

If the car does indeed have FSH (ie, previous MOTs) then it wouldn't be hard to work out if the displayed mileage is correct. Why not ask the seller to clarify? Looks a nice motor but is perhaps a little expensive...

Mileages on S70 clusters may be reprogrammed by the dealer, but you can get the true mileage from the ECU if I remember right.

I got my V70 from this dealer last June . A 'one man band' if you know what I mean , but I found him honest and trustworthy .

that is fair enough, if it has been fitted with incorrect milage, it would not have been the dealer, but an previous owner
