Great instructions!
Thanks for the post - saved me over £70, bought the part for £36 from a volvo dealer selling on ebay, and spent 25 minutes following your procedure - the 18mm nut was a challenge getting to with my socket drive but got there in the end! Was quoted £129 for it by Lancaster Reading!

Im wondering if any of my engine mounts are knackered, Ive only owned my '04 D5 for a month now and love it. Started to notice a vibration under acceleration, enough to be able to feel through the pedals and to blur the rear view mirror!

When putting back together I push the mount to the back of the bay without the bolts to fit the bush through bolt at the front of the slot, as suggest elsewhere in the forums. Was easy then to pull the bar forward and pop the bolts back in. All the bolt sizes certainly made this much easier. |

CMJ73, the reason the pics don't come up is they where on a server that was replaced after the date of the posting. So they wont come back up.
The replacement is straight forward even following these instructions without pics. I understand from your general post is how do you know that the mount needs replacing ? If you can move the torsion bar by any fair degree back and forth, then the mount is shot. I would say any back and forth movement more than 1cm and the mount is on its way out. Mine is less than this - post new mount fitted. Dont scrimp on non Volvo parts if poss. |
