Advice please - another newbie!!
Hello All,
Just migrated here from the Toyota Estima forum with the cracked head death of our bus, at £1500 average to fix it just isn't worth it on a 1996 vehicle. And now we have a 1997 V40 2,0 petrol manual with 101K and no service history. Seems to go well and we think a good price. Needs a new cat as the cat lamp is on occassionaly. Questions are: What should I do as preventative manitainance now? Is the cat converter a b*gger to cahnge and what sort of price are we talking please? Many thanks in anticipation ..... Geedon |

Yo should try replacing the O2 sensor first, or even check the wiring to yours for damage. An o2 sensor is a lot cheaper than a cat.

Almost exactly the same as me... I used to have a '95 estima 2.2TD, dreaded cracked head reared it's ugly head, now got a 97 S40 (as my run around).... Welcome.....
I would agree about checking the sensors first. |
