Immediate answers need help!!!
Ok, here goes:
I'm dropping a B23E into a B200E engined car, both auto. The B23E comes from a B reg motor, the car it's going in is an F reg. I just wanted to know if the injectors from a B230E would fit on the B23E? They both look similar and I asume they should be identical? (I could be wrong here) Also how much in litres does the auto box hold on a B reg B23E engined car? Please help as it's all in bits and both are awaiting drop in! |

Auto Gearbox Oil Capacity, according to Haynes:-
1982 and earlier = 4.6 QUARTS!! (horrid US book) = 9.2 pints 1983 and later = 5.2 QUARTS = 10.4 pints Re injectors, I'm assuming that its the Mechanical system like my 1988 240GLT, and all the injectors seem to be the same for all the mechanical injected engines.

Don't forget that US quarts are 20% smaller than imperial ones so you need to multiply those litre values by 0.8.
Having said that my 1988 240 manual says the auto box takes 7.5 litres total so I guess that includes the torque converter. The Haynes manual does not include the torque converter in its amount. So it could be as little as 4.1 litres or as much as 7.5 depending on which box you are filling and whether the torque converter was drained or not. I think the last part of the Bosch part number is stamped on the injectors. I know there were at least two different sorts used but I can't recall when. Andrew |

Help
As I understand it the B230E and the B23E are almost the identical engine, same as the B28 and the B280 there are a few differences but I doubt injector will be one of them.
Only way the injectors may be different is the impedence or CC volume otherwise pretty much the same |

thanks everyone, I've dropped in the B23E and auto box today, I'll finish wiring up and fluids tomorrow, along with some wiring, I will be swapping the existing injectors for some good condition B230E ones I have as the ones on the engine have a black goo on them that looks like some kind of repair.
I'm currently in process of making up an 8 guage central dash, when I'm finished I'll post the results. |
