V70R 1998 FWD Auto : Steering Rack
Hi, my steering rack is leaking and I'd really appreciate any advice, suggestions or the sale of a new/refurbed rack

There have been a few posts on here about this, maybe have a search?
PFS do a repair kit with new seals etc. although quite a big job to remove rack. How bad is the leak? I used Lucas Oil 10008 Power Steering Stop Leak, from amazon, which seemed to work.

Rebuild kit
I have bought a rebuild kit and over the weekend I'm going to see how "easy" it is to remove the rack. If its tough/complicated/out of my comfort zone I have a tame mech who can help

It is doable but the front subframe needs lowering to get it out, so quite fiddley and can be time consuming. It might be worth waiting for the weather to warm up so it becomes more of a desirable thing to do.
