Same year and model as myself
I will give it a go the next time I go out in the car and report back.

Do you find Spotify slow to load? Even with good connection sometimes it takes about 2 minutes before music plays. I was in a MY19 courtesy car and found Spotify loaded quicker.

I use Spotify set to Extreme quality without any issues over BT from my iPhone 11. 2Mb is more than enough bandwidth for stereo audio. Video streaming would be a different matter.

Do you find Spotify slow to load? Even with good connection sometimes it takes about 2 minutes before music plays. I was in a MY19 courtesy car and found Spotify loaded quicker.

Later cars have improved hardware so do perform better.

I'm very similar, sometimes its very quick (20 seconds or so) other times it can take a minute or so.

Down to our hardware abd as Lexman said, newer cars have upgraded hardware making connections quicker

Bluetooth 2 Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) 2-3Mbit/s
Bluetooth 3 + HS & 4 (high Speed) 24MBit/s

IPhone 11 is BT 5 so has a pretty quick BT

The sensus only supports up to Bluetooth 2.1 EDR (extended data rate) the maximum bandwidth this supports is up to 3mb, which you can get away with streaming for, just takes longer to buffer the tracks that are playing. The Three network runs about maximum of 20mb as they just run standard 4g. Unlike somebody like EE who run double speed 4G and 4G+ we’re you can get up to 60mb ish depended on area. Although it works over Bluetooth your not maximising what the cellar networks are cable off. Although convenient over turning you WiFi hotspot on and off your phone. Which also uses more battery. For people who are on three I would look at smarty. The company is owned by three but for a car sim seems good value as you don’t need fancy features, I have 30gb for £10 month not tied in to a contract. There are others plans if you are really heavy user. But again all depends on area coverage and what you do with the car.

I was on iPhone X when I last tested BT tethering. I have iPhone 11 Pro now.

For some strange reason though the car now can’t find any WiFi network and can activate the Bluetooth internet connection to my phone.

Regarding WiFi I’m 100% sure there are available networks (home and phone).

I have found that to get the car to establish a WiFI internet connection via my iPhone the Personal Hotspot screen must be open until there is a connection.
