Why didn't I notice this before?

I went to wash the car today, something I dont do myself too often, but my local/Eastern European car wash is closed.
I have this gap in the rubber trim which I am pretty sure shouldn't be there.
Do I have an ill fitted piece of rubber seal or is there a cover or trim that is missing?

I’ve noticed the same on my XC 60, and it’s started to get worse, I will mention it at my next service, but that’s not till December.

I know it is no consolation, but I am glad I am not the only one.
It would would interesting to hear of anyone else with the same problem.

I noticed a similar gap on my V90 R design. I don't recall such a gap on my last V90.

I shall watch this space. Wot, no smiley

It would be good to hear any feedback from anyone who has taken this up with their Volvo dealer.
I am somewhat concerned that it not only looks untidy but what happens to the water when it sometimes rains.

Looking at the picture and the marks on either side of the gap there is probably some form of finisher that has been lost?

My initial thoughts.

But if Whiterdesign is right then I would hope Volvo will sort it.
If there have been a number of similar problems then I wonder if there has been a bulletin on it?

Thanks to the pair of you.

Just been out and had a look at mine, no gap or finisher in that position, it does look as if your rubber seal has shrunk. Is the opposite side the same or still intact?
