Default New Volvo Models - incl pic of V60

As some of you know, I am spending my christmas & new year in Sweden and Denmark with my family and friends and while here have been doing some digging of articles of new Volvo models.

According to the biggest car mag here, Teknikens Värld these new models are still to come (despite chinese ownership):

S60 - 2010
V30 - small estate 2011
S40 - look like new S60, lighter than current S40 2012
P20 - Technology from Fiesta (!), small and sporty 2011
XC90 - at last 2013
V100 - enormous estate (we've all heard about this one for last 10 yrs) 2012
V60 - new estate of S60 - 2011

Drawing of new V60...

Personally I really like the look of that.....

As Sweden is the way it is, by entering that reg number on the pic, one can reveal some really interesting things....

That the car is owned by Volvo (and was first put on road on 16/10 2007!).
Regged on 4/9-2009.
VIN number: YV1MK675182052996.
2521cc (as in 2.5 litres) engine PETROL!!
169KW (not sure of conversion of this)
208g/km
Manual gearbox.
Max speed: 240km/h
1430kgs
1500kgs max towing weight.
430kgs load weight.
Tyres: 215/45R18 93W.
L x W x H: 4250 x 1800 x 1450mm.

there was talk of a S 100 in the mid 1990's , volvo developed a V10 with cosworth to go in it .. a few engines existed at the time , its basicly 2 x 850 engines forming a V 10 ..

Are these cars actually in the pipeline? I would love to see a proper estate made. It's strange that the 940 estate was never replaced. Thanks for taking the time to find the info for us.

I wonder what the Ford/Geely Volvo sale will do to this...

That V60 looks good and I like the sound of the new S40.

Fingers crossed.

I'll give Volvo the benefit of the doubt and wait until these cars become available before saying yes or no. The release pictures (not the concept stuff) try to make the cars look good from a certain angle, but looks can be very deceivingly... The cars look much better when you see them from your own perspective because you see what you like, rather than what the designers like, or what they think looks good, or will look good to potential customers.

One thing I'm having trouble accepting from the new range is that big frumpy logo on the grille. That's simply my own opinion. All the car manufactures are going down the overstated grille look and I actually like a lot of them, just not Volvo. The spaced out Volvo badge on the back stands out a lot, so that's 'working', but it just looks so out of place.

As for a V30? Estate? Who are they kidding? That thing will be nothing short of a 5-door hatch. The V50 seems pretty small as it it. Is the V60 supposed to replace the V50? I like the V50 I see in the drawing, but that bodyline really kicks everything else out of proportion.

If only they based the V100 off the VCC Concept Car...

The V30 is simply a way of adding two extra doors on the C30. I personally think Volvo messed it up big time by NOT releasing a 5 door version of the C30 at launch.

Be interesting to see what it looks like.

The article did not mention anything about the V50.

Sorry, I mean I like the V60 you attached to your post (other than the weird bodyline)!

I'm wondering if they release the V30, will they then replace the current V50 with the V60 and further more what'll happen to the V/XC70 if a V100 came into the loop. I think it's all very questionable as Wagons appear to be a think of the pass now (in the North American market anyway).
