V60 D4 4 cylinder timing belt
Just trying to check when the timing belt is due on my 2014 V60 D4 (4 cylinder), as sources seem I've seen seem conflicting, on the service schedule I saw it should be done at the 5 year 90k service, but also that it should be replaced at no longer than 8 years?, which is correct?, my car has only done 60k, but it will be 6 years old in September?, so unsure as to whether it needs done or not?

Still a bit confusing when it needs changed.
I phoned to arrange my 5 year service at 24k miles. They could not give me an exact cost saying that the computer was down, but it should be less than last year ( £420 ) as it was an interim service and last year was a full service. I booked it. I got a call a few days before the service from the dealer to confirm the booking, the service advisor saying that it would need a cambelt change as it was 5 years old. I queried this as in my opinion this was ridiculous and it had been discussed on this forum and apparently it is 10 years or 90k miles, confirmed by Clan. The advisor said hold on and I'll check and confirm. She came back a few minutes later and said that as it had only done 24k miles it wouldn't need done, and the service cost would be £420. By this time I was thinking that they did not really know themselves ? so just left it at that. I had the service done and went to the desk to pay and it was £299 ! So to be honest I don't think the dealer actually knows !! Iain

4 pot VEA Cam belt now 90k or 10yrs whichever comes first with aux belt and tensioner pulley 144k or 10yrs.
5 pot Cam belt 108 miles or 10yrs whichever comes first with Aux belts 54k or 10yrs. I have the VEA and it makes sence if you are getting the Cam belt done to get the Aux belt and tensioner pulley done at the same time. Main dealer price for both for me was £420 last year.

From what I understand the change to the timing belt interval changed last year some time. My d4 was serviced February 2019 (104k miles on the clock), and initially I was advised a timing belt was due, then they said no it wasn't. About June 2019 I got word that the timing belt interval had changed to 90k miles, and my car was in no mans land, being under the old limit but over the new limit.
I got the timing belt etc changed in February 2020 with the service. |

What year was yours from? I’m buying a 2014 with the D4 engine and 92k on the clock and wondering when it will need replacing. Too much conflicting information!

The 2014 V60 D4 was available with two different engines depending upon when it was built. One was a 5-cylinder 2-litre (1984cc) engine with 163bhp and the other was a 4-cylinder 2-litre (1969cc) engine with 178bhp. Which do you have?
