Interesting 164 pricing
A quick flick at a classic car mag in the supermarket this morning and I saw the editor's favourites, one being a light blue 164. I looked on the ClassicCarsForSale website, where it is and see well over £8k is wanted for it.
Now I went to see that very car just over a year ago and pawed all over it: quite a nice genuine car but up for over £6k then. I know it was at last years Beaulieu spring autojumble and didn't sell, so after about a years slumber how come a relatively undesireable albeit nice car can increase in value by over 30%? That car seems to be the most expensive one advertised currently in the UK, so perhaps the seller doesn't really want to sell it but is trying the market. A perplexed Paul |

I saw the same car at Beaulieu. A lovely original example but with a cheap and poor quality localised respray (usual areas) - which did the car no favours.
It was already overpriced then. But a great car to own and improve (if you have money burning a hole in your pocket). A real shame 164s arent more sought after. They look so well engineered/built. |
