2 hours of fog through Lincolnshire late on didn't help. Lorries don't seem to be affected by weather and thunder on as normal.

That's three of us - i saw the post earlier and tried watching but got problems with t'internet at t'moment and changing ISPs in the next couple of days anyway so thought nowt of it. If others are having problems then it's not just me then!

Maybe he caught a few frames of some dodgy advert or trading name on a lorry or bus stop or something daft and they think it's under the counter advertising - "subliminal suggestion" i think they call it?

Three weeks out of four I would cover almost 1000 mile weeks in my old 940. As others have said, car is made for these trips. I kept my speed down and returned up to 38mpg, hopefully achieving Around 35 over the week. The ride is so comfy, seats so soft, it was a joy!

So if I see a Skoda or a Volvo on the M4 with a chap's head sticking out the sunroof... I'll give you a wave!

I do have to be careful getting in and out of the 740: if I don't duck, I crack my head on the top of the door frame...

Seriously, though, is there anything you can get properly comfortable in?

I'm only 5'10" - 5'11" and i have that trouble! That said i've got the seat base almost as high as it will go as i do have some other "body problems" (hence driving an auto only) and it's too low otherwise.

The Skoda doesn't have a sunroof so headroom is no issue, and that's comfortable enough for four hours plus, especially since I dropped in some mk4 Golf GTI seats with more bolstering under the legs and a better backrest shape.

The two cars with the most interior room that I've sat in/driven recently were a BMW 3 series (boring) and believe it or not, a Skoda Citigo (not driven but sounds quite fun). I have a friend who's 7' and reckons I'd fit in a Suzuki Swift, and the AWD version with the 6 speed sounds like fun...

My Wife's Father was well over 6ft and never had any issues with the 740, although if you have a factory sunroof the headroom is compromised once you're in.

N.B I'm 5'11"and have no issues either - seat's as low as it can go.
